The Sam H. Jones Community Service Scholar program is one of the nation’s largest service-based scholarship programs. The purpose of SHJ is to recognize students’ prior service contributions to the community and foster their leadership, professionalism, and community involvement. The following programs comprise SHJ: Alternative Break Trip Leaders and Co-Coordinators, Bonner Leader Scholars, Fugate Scholars, and Paws Pantry Scholars. These programs support various service initiatives both on campus and in the community. In addition to their service activities, students participate in professional development and reflection activities throughout the year.
