The Honors College’s Peer Mentor Program provides an opportunity for first-year Honors College Scholars to build one-on-one relationships with second through fourth-year Honors College Scholars.  They serve as a resource for students sharing information about campus and addressing any questions that students have before their first day of classes. Mentors welcome students to the Honors College community, help them build their network at IUPUI and within the Honors College, and serve as a personal guide throughout their first semester of college, thereby contributing to their sense of belonging. Experienced mentors have the opportunity to serve on a committee of six Peer Mentor Leaders, to assist in the planning, assessment and implementation of the program.  Peer Mentor Leaders are also responsible for leading discussions with a small group of 6-7 mentors throughout the program. To become Honors Peer Mentors, students are required to apply and then interview for this voluntary position.
